The legal protection of the Venus trademark held by the Italian Kelemata cosmetics company was terminated
The legal protection of the Venus trademark held by the Italian Kelemata cosmetics company was terminated by the Moscow Commercial Court upon the US Venus Fashion swimwear producer’s request.
Venus Fashion’s lawyers said that there is no evidence that Kelemata has used the disputed trademark, and the defendant has not attended a single hearing even though it was notified of the planned court sessions in due time. Venus Fashion claims this is evidence that Kelemata has no interest in the disputed brand.
Kelemata has been producing women’s beauty products under the Venus brand since 1981, including vitamin-enriched shampoos, bath and shower products, deodorants and hair removal products.
