On the 24th of November, the Fifth International Scientific and Practical Conference “Energy Law: Models and Development Trends” was held at the Belgorod State National Research University, organized by the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Polotsk State University (Republic of Belarus) and Belgorod State National Research University.

TV&P lawyer Maria Milyukova made a presentation in the section “Development of low-carbon energy in Russia and the world: legal dimension.” Her speech was devoted to the most pressing problems of renewable energy in Russia and globally. It was noted that currently, renewable energy sources are perceived not only as one of the main factors in the global transition to “clean” technologies with minimal impact on the environment, but also as a possibility to influence the world political agenda.

In addition, the example of Russia’s cooperation with the BRICS member states was demonstrated to analyze our country’s attitude towards the development of the international legal regime for renewables.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, PJSC Rosseti, PJSC RusHydro, PJSC Inter RAO, as well as Moscow State University and MGIMO.
